Mido Swissonic

Post21 Oct 2009, 10:05

Hi All.
I just received a Mido Swissonic off Ebay, and someone's had a real go at the module. It was lsited as non-working, so it was a bit speculative, but the images were pretty well orchestrated to avoid the flaws in this watch.

Anyway, the module does work, except that the spring command contactor thingy's are completely missing ! See the below image (borrowed from one of Ed's earlier posts). The objects circled in red are missing:

Has anyone got any suggestions ? Anyone got a dead module they'd care to part with ?

Rgds,
Andrew.

Andrew:
I'm curious how much of the spring contacts are missing - it will be a bitch reattaching them if completely gone.

Hi Ed.
Both contactors are completely missing. I’ll try to put an image up after work.
All that is left are the pads that the contactors attach to, and the post things that get ‘touched' .

Here's the image:

Someone's been wielding a soldering iron with gay abandon !

If anyone can supply the contactors, or a dead module, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's maddening that it works perfectly, but there's no way to activate it in the case :x

Relax everyone, you can stop searching for a dead Mido module ;-)
I bought some 5/1000 inch brass sheet and made the contactors for my module. It now wroks perfectly !

This Mido, doesn't have Swissonic written on the back end, like most I've seen do. It's the same as london_funks that he posted about recently:

Also, there are no threaded posts in the case to secure the module in place (even though the module has securing holes). It seems that the module just sits in place.

Rgds,
Andrew.
