UCC 392 battery

Post07 Dec 2009, 18:31

Hi all. This is sort of a followup question from my last about the novelty watches I purchased.

I was thinking about buying the replacement batteries ahead of time. On three of the packages, it says to use "UCC 392" batteries, and I was wondering if these are still the ones in use, or if they have a different name now? Because I've had a hard time finding them.

The other three don't say what batteries to use, so i guess I'd just have to take them in to a watch store.

Thanks!

UCC 392 is the same as SR41 or (V)384 or (V)392 or SG3 (all silver oxide).
Diameter 7.9mm, height 3.6mm
The cheaper alkaline variant is LR41 or AG3 or V3GA.
You can use any of these. You can by the alkalines online for a couple of cents per battery.

Right on, thanks for the info.

I have to admit, after typing this up I went out to buy some stocking stuffers at CVS, so I took a quick look at their battery selection.

They actually had a battery numbered 392, but it didn't say "UCC" anywhere on it.

I told myself to hold off and come see what your guys had to say on the subject, but it was only a couple bucks, so I snagged one, hoping it was in fact the right battery...
