

Actually, your prblem very likely IS a wire-bond, but not to the individual segment, but from the display driver chip down to the traces. If you carefully lift that top(first go around it with a sharp tool and dislodge the sealing rubber, then lift straight up), you will see that all three of those segment are connected to the same trace on the board - they don't light up at the same time due to the magic of "multiplxing"; basically they take turns, very fast, giving an impression of being on constantly. Anyway, follow the trace back to the chip - probably the wire bond has lifted of the board, seems to rarely be the wirebond has came off the chip at that end
