Damaged "O" Ring Gasket?

Post09 Aug 2010, 22:30

This "O" ring gasket is from a GF P3. I have questions... :-)

1. Is the gasket supposed to have "crimps" (at the bottom of photo)? Is it damaged?
2. If this is normal, when I reinstall it does the degree of orientation in the case matter?
3. Do I need to replace the old gasket and if so where can I get a replacement?
4. Is "restoring" the gasket by soaking/coating with silicone adequate?

Thank you for any assistance!

Thanks, Jeff. One thing that made me wonder if this ring was intended to be this way is the symmetry of the "crimps." perhaps it is correct for a different watch. Hopefully someone can chime in and direct me to a good replacement.
