LCD - only viewable on acute angle

Post18 Oct 2014, 20:39

I have a nice NOS Waltham Dixie Alarm LCD which works, kind of.

You have to hold it at an acute angle to see anything, but when you do it's all there (see photo)

It's got a new Renata battery and has had its contacts cleaned. Any suggestions of what needs to be looked at, or better still, someone who can definitely fix this that I could send it to :)

Thanks!

Not an expert at all but sounds like the polariser has degraded, search for 'polariser' on the forum and you will find more information on this such as this here.. .. .. viewtopic.php?f=64&t=5661&p=37860&hilit=polariser#p37860
