Seiko RC 1000 button removal

Post10 May 2016, 18:20

I would like to try and swap the buttons around on two rc1000's. The watch with the print still intact has a scratched screen and I would prefer to have the scratched screen watch have the worn off button graphics.

I can't see anyway in though. Is it possible with basic tools?

Thanks! :grin1:

Edit: I've just realised this post should probably be in the "mechanical" section.

Looks like a sealed unit to me? Wouldn't it be easier to just polish the screen on the scratched one?

I thought about polishing it but the screen only protrudes less than 1 millimetre above the watch face. I'm not sure I would be able to do it without damaging the surrounding area.

You could try masking it off.

Thanks. Yea, I could give it a go. I've only polished one watch screen before, so I'm a bit nervous about trying it. :grin1:
