tribute to DWF with my own designed watch ;)

Post17 Feb 2012, 21:14

i always wanted to make my own watch..but with so many things to do in life..time is not on my side.

so lets design our own label..that must be fun.

i purchased a nice Anker lcd watch from the bay with a broken platic cover. The big problem with these watches is that the layout and the label are printed on the plastic glass. So it's not easy to replace.

So first i made a new glass for the watch (real glass, no plastic), see under right side on picture.

then i downloaded a freeware software called inkscape..it's a vector program. And i start designing my own label..now i'm not a designer but i gave it my best shot :-D
now i had to keep in mind that i had to do mirror writing.

then i purchased some special transparent paper that sticks.....wooohhaaa incredible good englsh Kasper M:)W:)M

After printing on the paper..i direkt noticed that the printside is rough..something they had put on the paper so the inkt would stick to it.

then i cut it out with sissors and put it on the glass

Et voila mon amis...and there it is my friends..the DWF watch :-D

do i like it?...NO..the glue from the paper left traces all over the place...if i rub it to hard..the inkt goes away.

So i've gave it my best shot but i have to find better ways to do it :-D

Have fun watching.

That's great, I'd love to make my own cases for an existing LED module.
