From the Lone Star with love... Austin Compuchron!

Post22 Jun 2012, 11:57

The watch arrived just twenty minutes ago, and I already love it. Amazing NOS conditions and without a scratch. Here are the pics, hope you like my latest addition!
(Yeah, I know that my hands aren't so firm when I take a photo, but I'm so excited! )
It even had the original sticker with the price of the watch back in 1977: 89$! I've carefully removed it without damaging the sticker, and now the watch is proudly on my wrist!
I must say that the watch is quite tiny, but it's not too small for a male wrist, I think it's due to Compuchron's will to make it look more like a bracelet than a watch, and that makes it look even cooler. (I wonder what kind of module has this watch!)

Thank you very much Abe for selling me such a beautiful watch!

That's a very nice watch, I have the Baylor about the same size. I wear this watch a lot
Mine has the old dot display and is very bright. Got it a at watch store for $15 dollars
I asked the person at the store for old watches they don't want or need, He came with this
and said, How much you want to pay for it, I said 10. You never know, all you need is to ask.
Cheers :-) , ISH.

I'm super happy that it has found such a good home. The only downside is... it sounds like somebody has developed a bit of an addiction. I don't think there are support groups or 12 step programs for this sort of thing - there just aren't that many of us. Looks like you'll just have to cope. I advise a little moderation, maybe an occasional analog watch or LCD so as to avoid turning into an LED junkie. I've seen it happen - you start with a nice TI or CompuChron and then pretty soon you're selling your soul for a Pulsar or Omega. The next thing you know you're that pitiable creature roaming the streets with a sign saying "will work for LED watches". You don't want to turn to a life of crime or of destitution to support your habit. If you find yourself falling, get help, there must be some sort of treatment, exposure therapy or drugs or something.

If we weren't addicted to LED watches then we wouldn't be here!
