Longines LED

Post16 Sep 2012, 00:11

I've been looking for one of these for a while and finally found one.  Not done anything to it yet but with a clean it should look great.  It does work but the module is having a few issues.  It a Hughes with DOW but when I tried to set it it went dead but did come back on a few hours later.  It shows flashing seconds continuously but when you do this it does not flash in time and causeS the watch to lose time.  Is this a contact or a QC issues?  Anyone experienced this before?

On the Hughes modules one battery powers up the display the other powers up the timing circuit, check inside the negative battery well you will see the edge of a copper contact, this is the contact point for the timing circuit, make sure that this is clean and in permanent contact with the battery, you might be able to carefully bend (tweak) it a little in order to get a better contact, when correct it should be strong enough to hold the battery in position and stop it falling out. I would separate the board from the plastic carrier and clean up all the other contacts whilst I was at it.

No guarantees it will work but definitely worth a try.

Good luck.
