A Selection of 70s Seiko LCDs

Post30 Apr 2012, 21:08

Some gratuitous photos of the Seiko 'Keepers' that I've collected over the last six months. They're in order of favour, left to right, the A039 is definitely my reigning Seiko champion. There's only a few more 70s Seikos that I'm really interested in though a few of the examples I have here could do be improved upon.....the A159 glass needs polishing......the calculator bezel has been touched up on the top edge......slightly worn black on some of the straps and buckles......

Great selection of Seiko's 8-) I love those bands with the black sections - don't they look great!
I agree with your top three, although I am not sure what order I would put them in.
Cracking photo's 8-)

A very fine selection, not only the choice of model, but the condition too.

Hey quietman,

Are any of those restores that you did yourself? If so, then I am impressed.

Thanks for the comments.

There's a bit of a mix in terms of condition. I tend to buy broken watches in reasonable physical condition and then fix them up. These Seikos range from the F033 which was NOS and just needed some internal cleaning through to the 0532 which was a complete rebuild and refinish from a battered old £5 donor watch (plus some dosh on NOS parts.....)

All of them have been completely disassembled - thats part of the fun for me. And most have had at least a little polish on the shiny parts, a new gasket, a scratch taken off the glass or something similar.

very nice indeed...for me it's 1-2-3-5
5 for its simplicity and the bracelet.
