Ching Cheong Water Watch : a patented watch that runs on just water
Description: 1990. A curiosity- a watch that "runs" on water! Well it doesn't really just uses the water as the electrolyte in the cells at the top of the watch. This watch was made by the Ching Cheong Company in Hong Kong and came in a number of different colours - this is a translucent one so you can see the innards. Runs for about 3-4 days per drink of water and you refill by leaving it overnight on its side in a saucer of water (buttons out of water!). Fully working and settable good condition with original strap. @Andy Dunn

Hey you all...this board is FREE and without ADS, so at least post something every now and then to show your appreciation.
I see you carefully followed the instructions to keep the buttons out of the water.
I have a water watch, I have not used it for a while and it is left in it original packaging - as far as I remember the one I have has a reservoir that you pour water into to power the watch up.
Oh my god Kasper!!!I It reminds me when i was kid...well you must know that this watch was used as a "bonus" in our italian snacks...and i remember it very very well...fantastic ah ah ah ah
Here the original italian advert in 1989/1990,as you can see there's the famous "Ciao" logo used during the World cup in 1990 in Italy..
Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable Some watches, simply are not made to last Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way
