Phil, the flying V is in our local rag today,it states the owner had to keep it in a vault since his appearance on TV and because of this he feels the enjoyment of owning it is diminished, so he's selling it- i guess Lifes Not Such A Gas

Thanks for that, I suppose going on TV was a bit silly but it would be a very hard thing to sell , if stolen, since 80% of that value is in the Mark Bolan provenance, I could buy a similar 68 Flying V for around £5000 without the provenance. A top of the range Gibson Les Paul made today can cost the same as that.

** Stop Press**

The Marc Bolan Flying V previously discussed sold at Christies today for £36,000 or $72,000, without the star provenance it would be worth about £10,000.

: Other Collections??

As far as other collections, I have a few items of Night Vision equipment I seem to be collecting.

I started over 10 years ago with a 2nd generation Image intensifier pocketscope. Then came the big one, a U.S. Army AN/PAS-7A Thermal Imager.

Also got 1 Russian Night vision goggle, 1 Russian Tank commanders NVG connected to the padded tankers helmet dated 1967. And a pair of U.S. Army PVS-5C Night Vision goggles.

I love them all!! My family thinks I'm nuts to go for this stuff, but it's really cool to put the goggles on and watch the racoons roll your neighbors garbage cans down the street. Or take a walk at night on a park trail to see all the deer and other wildlife at night. If the moon is out it looks like the sun and you can also see many millions of more stars while looking at the sky with these.

In all, just another hobby that I enjoy. :D

I have to admit though, I never thought about the collecting ghetto blasters, or vintage beer cans, that's pretty neat stuff :D

I collect a few other things...

Vintage handheld electronic games from the late 70s to mid 80s with an emphasis on LED & VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) games. Have acquired roughly 150 games so far. Was featured in the 'Collectors Corner' section of Retro Gamer magazine a few months back.

I've also got an assortment of eighties toys such as Big Trak, 2 XL, the Tomy robot range (Omnibot, Dingbot, Chatbot, FlipBot, etc), MB Starbird.

I also collect space age furniture, plastics and technology

Hey that's a pretty cool game collection. I still have the one on the right on the first shelf from the bottom. It still works. I believe it's a vfd display? I'm going to have to get it from my parents place.

I'm a bit of a scifi geek, mostly Star Trek. Made my own movie "Monster Maroon" uniform and collect some of the toys. Also have a working "Neuralizer" and "Noisy Cricket" from the movie "Men In Black". Both are made of aluminum with lights/sound.

Awesome colection of vintage hand-held games there!
I have a few of the Mattel LED sprots games from the late 70's, but nothing like what you have. VERY COOL! 8-)
