Photos of your watch collection - post them here!!!

Post05 Jan 2009, 23:21

I'll start the ball rolling with my humble collection...

Image

Front row, from left to right: Wittnauer Polara Doctor, Pulsar Calculator, Mido Swissonic, Novus Dual Time, Austin, Orient Touch Sensor, Compu Chron, Megatron, Bulova Sideview, Spaceman Audacieuse, Wittnauer Polara, Sharp, Beltime.

Back row, from left to right (ish): Pulsar ladies, Synchronar, Electronika, Seemos, Commodore, Pulsar P3, Wittnauer ladies, Calcupen, F-System jump hour, Timex ladies, Zeon (modern), Benrus, Mintron, Unknown.

Other objects right at the back, left to right: A danish space age ashtray, a Rhythm alarm clock from the late 60s/early 70s, a Braun T2 table lighter designed by Dieter Rams, also late 60s/early 70s.

Phew!!!

I only collect stainless steel watches as I don't like gold - too flashy - and stainless steel is still in fashion!

So Bucko, your hit rate was approx. 85%!!!

Humble? It is a very nice collection 8-)

I noticed that they are all SS, do you not like any other finishes, gold tone, black etc.

Can you give us a run through of what is there.

Here's my guess -

Front row left to right -
Wittnauer (Doctor)
Pulsar 901\902 calculator
Mido Swissonic
Wittnauer?
Accurist
Orient
Compu Chron
Novus
Bulova
Spaceman Audacieuse
Wittnauer
Mido
?

Back row left to right -
Pulsar
Synchronar
Electronika
Timex?
Commodore
Pulsar
Wittnauer ladies
LED calculator pen
Jump hour, Cosmos?
Timex
?
Sharp
?
Mercury Time

Not to sure about the 3 objects at the back.

How did I do?

Nice collection ledlover.
I have a couple of questions:

What are the items at the back, on each end ?
Why no gold watches ? Personally I prefer gold LEDs. I find them to be more evocative of the LED era !

Rgds,
Andrew.

Yes - a very nice collection there ledlover. (You have a catchy name too ;-) )

I also was wondering about the clocks (?) in the back row, that orb on the left in particular :?: :!: Looks cool whatever it is. 8-)

The orb is an ashtray. You swivel the top half to open portholes - where the black circles are, to gain access.

I'm a big fan of such 'space age' design and collect 60s/70s space age furniture and other retro technology... When I find the time I'll post some pix.

That's a cool ashtray. So no LED's on it but it adds to the picture. 8-)

A few of my favorite LED pendant and pocket watches. Have added many more pictures to my gallery. http://www.dwf.nu/Gallery/thumbnails.php?album=41

Great collection fronzelneekburm 8-)

I think the smaller message display on the module that you refer to in your gallery will display 'I Love You' - I have the same module.

Many great watches, but I especially like the green Compu Chron and as you have opted to use it as your avatar I think you would probably agree.

Fronzel: I can answer your question about the "Let's F_ck" module - the secondary display was programmed to say "I love You". No, seriously, I just sold one of those to Bucko170. The I love You was the safe, one push feature, the more adult message takes three pushes and holding to display - yes? No idea who made it. I have two other "Let's" modules, one is an Armitron/Saturn/Quasar, the other is a Hughes module, in a Belair case - hard programmed. But yes, that secondary display is most unusual. Thanks for using the gallery - it is supposed to have a rebuild coming that will give every picture a unique, permanent identifier in the database. Currently, if you remove a picture and then replace it, the replacement will be what is linked to.

HA-HA - Bucko was already over at the gallery posting comment while I was typing.

Has the 'Lets .... module been transplanted into another case?

The watch in the gallery looks to have a relatively small crystal the small 'I Love You' display is quite high and it needs a large crystal otherwise the message will be obscured by the case.
