Oooh.. nice watch there Bernus. I have one just like - love it!
I have two other M159 modles that have been giving me and Ed a headache. They're great when the work the way they should
(but I guess we can say that about any of our vintage gems).

This may not be pretty, but I was tickled to find it in an odd lot I bought. The ultimate '70s party watch........ .4:20 anyone?

I think we can safely say it's classified as a side-lit display.

I saw the posting about your M159 awhile back, and actually posted a tag-along similar concern about my SEIKO 0439-5009 in that thread...It seemed to be doing what your M159 was doing..."gobbling up electrons" as Ed stated :-( I never was able to figure out my 0439, and decided to part with it to a European buyer awhile back. I thought your M159 was working as repaired by Ed, but sorry to hear that they are not :-?
I got lucky with my M159 as it looks as if it was never sold/purchased, or worn previously...a true NOS! A score @ $50.00 priced out the door from a local pawn shop! I had pointed out my interest in this watch to my wife who later went back and purchased it to gift me on Christmas (she haggled them down to $45.00 out the door)!
I'm really liking this watch allot!
Hope to hear that you get one of yours working right soon ;-)
Thanks,

Sorry for the confusion Bernus. Yes, Ed was able to fix that M159 and it has been working great ever since (that was some time ago!). In 2010 I bought 2 other M195's, both in SS but with a thinner case design than the original one I had - which is the same model you are enjoying now. One of these two modules is buggin', but the other is fine, along with the original.
I'll have to post some pics.... next year.
But for now......

HAPPY NEW YEAR D.W.F ! :-D

Shame more parts aren't available for those Seikos. The last two Mike(Ledluvr) sent appeared almost identical, but there was an idiosyncrasy and you couldn't swap the backs(which drove me a little nutz until I marked one and it's case with a permanent marker. I have about 15 NOS or minty ++ Seikos, Citizens, Junghans, Bulova and Omega LCDs laying out next to the photo tent along with some LED items that don't come up often. Hoping to do some serious photographing during next week or two.

Hi.

This is my Christmas present to myself. It was listed as non worker/did not tried batteries...Pulsar P3 model 5310-2 on the box but the serial number does not mach the serial number on the watch case back...Watch hase outer box and inner box and magnet as well.
When the watch arrived today I discovered that there are still the original batteries in, but luckily they have not been leaking at all. So I just put new batteries in and it light right up.

Happy New Year

Aye, you took a big gamble and got lucky.
I've gotten lucky plenty of times on auctions similarly listed as this one, but only once with a Pulsar. Usually it seems if it's a Pulsar, Synchronar or other more 'upscale' LED watch, and it's NOT shown as running - it doesn't run. I guess Santa's records show that you were a good boy last year.

Well, this is what I bought myself for Christmas:
Image

Image

It only arrived today, after a month long wait ! It's fully functional and it's SS. I've had a GF model for years, without a box or manual. As you can see, this one's got both, so each watch can now share the box ;-)

It came with a receipt from 'Fast-Fix Jewelry Repairs', which I assume is in Texas somewhere (that's where the watch came from). The seller was charged $67.95 to supply and instal the 4 required batteries !!! I'd give this place a wide berth if I needed any sort of watch service.

Rgds,
Andrew.

Guess they tried to pull a "fast one" on you. :-)

Glad to hear that they didn't succeed. Yikes. Note to self: be suspect of commercial operations operating under names such as "Fast, Speedee, Qwik, Instant, Jiffeee" etc.

That sure is a pretty Xmas present Andrew. Very nice. Contrats on finding a good one!

Hi Peter.
You must have the updated 902 module in your calculator. It should have flick-wrist auto-command and DOW indication. The C and = should also be transposed. See Oldpulsars for a description of the two models.
Funny that they transposed these buttons. I wonder if it was to identify the 2 models, or if it was seen as further improvement for the new model.

They picked the wrong bloke when they tried to rip you off Jeff !

Rgds.
