What am i looking at?

Post23 Jan 2012, 22:01

Hello DWFers....

I've been offered this watch for sale.
It has no strap or brandname on the crystal no boxes or documentation,
it is in good working order and has the plastic protection still on the back.
Dimensions are 33 x 36 mm.
Maybe a Timex??? but it looks different then the ones on http://www.ledwatches.net/
So who can tell me what i am looking at and maybe an idea on it's value.

Dunno, but the case back and module look very refined and it makes me think it is a late 70s example?
It is a nice looking watch but non-branded watches usually sell for a little less than branded ones, my guess at the value would be in the region of £45 to £65.

It's a Swiss "Lanco" from the Omega-Tissot conglomerate fitted with an ESA9380 module assembled in Switzerland with USA made Hughes circuitboard (or chip only). The logo would normally be placed on the red crystal but is worn out. 1975-77.

The Lanco one that looks similar has the logo etched into the crystal, maybe if you hold it up to the light at an angle you might still be able to see an outline of it?

The Lanco is very similar but the case back is different? Maybe a slightly different model?
