Lets Have A Vote - Silver Or Gold Coloured Watches?

Post22 Sep 2013, 23:05

It's been a while since we had a vote, so here's a quick one just for fun - Which watch colour do you prefer? The question relates only to the colour of the watch and not the particular material used.
The poll will run for twenty days.
Please feel free to elaborate more on your own personal choice.

My preference (generally speaking) is for a silver tone watch as I think it matches in with the non-metal parts much better and gold always strikes me as being a little 'bling'.

I prefer the look of a gold watch.
To me, it's more evocative of the blingy 70s.

Of course any plated watch is more prone to deterioration, and is far more difficult to re-finish.
So, just to add balance, I voted for gold.............a good gold watch that doesn't need re-finishing !

The colour depend of the watch.
Silver is more manly, gold is more for females and small watches. Silver is modern and stylish, gold is more prestige and refined.
Led watches work good with gold and silver because the red crystal works with gold and silver, an lcd watch works better with silver due to the lcd with black digits and the silver background. That's why some bands used yellow or gold backgrounds for a gold watch. :-D

I am not sure I agree that silver is more manly but then again I did choose to wear this watch today because it matched my handbag and shoes

It's difficult to choose sometimes. Gold works when the watch is big enough :mega:

I voted for silver tone. I prefer mostly stainless steel or chrome plated cases for aesthetic reasons, plus they also allow me to wear them without attracting the attention of thieves. After a thief tried to steal my gold filled Bulova Computron from my wrist, I tend to avoid golden watches, so I can stay out of troubles, at least.

Silver for sure! :grin1:
Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way
