Buying from abroad

Post16 Jan 2014, 23:12

Hi all. Was just wondering how successful people have been when purchasing watches or indeed anything else from different countries via ebay?
I don't buy much from the bay but have a few friends that have had hassles with items either not turning up or taking an age to do so.
The reason that I ask is that I fancy treating myself to something nice but UK is obviously limited.
Hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question

I've bought at least a dozen in the last year from the USA, Australia, Philippines, Europe. They have all been fine. The only one that has gone astray was "misplaced" by my lovely next door neighbours in the UK! :x

Just be aware of the customs charges and factor it in when buying. Its usually 15-30% on top of a purchase.

Thanks for the info John as that gives me a bit more confidence. If I do find something that I really like I will post a pic for advice and comments.
Paul.
