Biggest Seiko boutique in Europe

Post19 Jun 2015, 19:49

I'm quite exicited that there will be the biggest Seiko boutique of Europe in my country!
I think that I will visit it, although I think that I will find not a single digital watch.
Does somebody know why Seiko doesn't produce any digital watches today? I mean,
Casio is still producing digital watches. They are also re-releasing old designs.
It is just a mystery to me. :?:

Good question...they still have a few.
Seiko Active Matrix EPD Watch in differend styles.

The problem with this big companies is that they can not respons fast enough to market changes. With more and more companies jumping on the smart watch wagon, Seiko have to produce something nice possibly with
bluetooth function. But this takes time to produce on a worldwide scale. They make to much money on their regular analoque watches at the moment so they forgot to open their eyes to a new wave of watches that is coming :-D

where did i see this before...eeeugh nokia....eeugh microsoft ...etc :-D

just my 2 cents :-D

Thanks for your reply, Kasper.
No question, the EPD watches seem to be very great products. But when I see their prices, I feel
quite uncomfortable.
My thought was, why Seiko doesn't produces digital watches for the "mass market" anymore, is that
digital time displaying is nowadays not considered as fancy.

Your comparison with Nokia is interesting, I didn't saw that from that perspective.
It could be really possible, that Seiko will manufacture watches which will be able to connect with a
smartphone. But I doubt that it would be actually smartwatches, like the products of apple or sony.
I think more of watches like the new Bluetooth G-Shocks from Casio.
