Omega TC1 problem - Help!

Post20 Aug 2007, 16:00

Hi all,

I have a good condition TC1 in white gold which has been working perfectly for years until recently when it stopped displaying any numbers etc. I naturally assumed it was the batteries so I took it to a regular jewelers but they seemed to have no joy. Apparently every pair of batteries they put in lasted a very short time before going dead. After a few attempts I ended up taking it to a high street Omega stockist who sent to Omega. 6 weeks later it is returned with a note saying - sorry we can't fix it as the parts are no longer available. Great, thanks Omega!
Does anyone know what maybe happening with my watch? Could the module be faulty? Does anyone know of a specialist in the UK who may be able to help me seeing as Omega couldn't (!) Any help would be very appreciative..

Thanks
Warren

Your best bet is to contact retroleds aka Ed Cantarella - the forum owner and an honest guy. There are others who do work on these but I don't know about them. Retroleds is based in the USA - check out www.retroleds.com for more info on repairs. Do let us know how it turns out.

woz22,

A faulty quartz crystal/oscillator is the first thing that comes to mind. This is not to say that it couldn't be something else, but it would be the likely place to start. I agree that Ed would be a good choice for repairing your watch.
