Unusual TC1 Box

Post24 May 2010, 10:37

Did anyone see this a few weeks back:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ORIGINAL-OMEGA-L ... 45f2b9c342

I've never seen an Omega LED in a box like this, nor the little instruction book. Can anyone confirm if it's original to this model ?
I did a babel-fish translation, and I think it suggested the box was original.

Andrew.

TC1 in 14K white-goldfilled. The box IS an original Omega, but looks earlier than the 70s. The clear plastic watch collar is later vintage, and almost certainly not original to the box.

Haven´t seen this post earlier, because I won the ebay auction. I cannot say, if this watch has been delivered in this box since I have never seen it before, but the plastic collar is sitting in a notch of the shown box, so they fit. I can make a hi-res pic if you want me.

Moreover I haven´t seen the small instruction manual before. There once has been a plastic cover for a magnet and two cells on the inside.

Looks like a nice Omega Hanno. The module looks perfect for SASMing :-D

I guess we'll never know if this was the original box, unless a few more crop up.
Is the little booklet for the TC1 ? Maybe these booklets came with the different box ?

Is the magnet and battery holder in the box somewhere ? I can't see them in the pictures.

Well, another one's popped up:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Omega-LED-watch- ... 35a9f0e180

Looks like these may have been an alternative box for the TC1 (especially in Germany !)........unless this is the same one ?

No, this is my watch. I already have three of these, however without a box. I just can´t devide box, manual and watch because it seems that they have been bought toghether. Moreover I am not a collector, so these parts are less interesting for me. Got an email, that the back is not the right one. Is that true? If yes, I do have a 2nd from a white gold TC1, so I might change it.

Yes, would seem to be incorrect. The casebacks on all three of my 14KWGF TC1s reads "FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE" just below the center line. Your caseback would be correct on the 14K yellow goldfilled TC1s and TC2s. Not a huge thing...more of a detail...but, as they say, "The devil's in the details".

@Bruce:

Seems to be that the one from my stock is the right case back. It has the same lettering. I am going to add another picture to the auction in a few mins and I will let the buyer choose the case back.

You could have it shipped directly to me, and cut a week or more out of the loop, but I will leave that decision to you. Congrats on winning; you paid a fair price...
