OMEGA TC2 G.F. PLUS PULSAR P4 CLASSIC G.F.

Post26 Mar 2012, 18:46

Hi Guys,

I have 2 questions that I do not know the answer to so I need some expert advice from the forum:::::

1. OMEGA TC2, DID OMEGA USE 80 MICRONS AS GOLD FILL ON THEIR LED WATCHES?

2. PULSAR P4 CLASSIC TIFFANY MODEL, I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY THE EXPERTS THIS WATCH WAS MADE WITH 80 MICRONS OF GOLDFILL, MY QUESTION IS I HAVE A FEW VERY, VERY LIGHT SCRATCHES ON THE CLASP, CAN THESE BE REFURBISHED OUT?

Any help you can give me on these questions would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you and regards,

KARNAK. :?:

Short answers are:
1. YES.
2. Yes, if you are VERY careful.
80 micron goldfill sounds like a lot, but it is only .080mm, or .0032 inch. However, on the bracelet (including the clasp), it is typically 20 microns, or .0008 inch. All Pulsar and Omega LED watches were made to this standard. Hamilton did RGP (Rolled-gold plate), which is another process.

Hi Mr. Wegmann,

Thank you for your fast reply and your expert advice, just the information I needed. I think the best thing to do is leave well enough alone as I am sure most watches of this age have the odd tiny scratch here and there.

Many thanks,

KARNAK
