OMEGA 1603 G.F. BATTERIES 357OR386

Hi,

I have a pristine OMEGA 1603 G.F. I have been using RENATA 2/386 BATTERIES which seemed to have worked well without any problems. I just discovered form ABE'S excllent website TIME TRAFFICKER that in fact the correct batteries to use are RENATA 2/357 as the are slightly larger than the 386.

My question is will using the 386 cause any long term problem for the watch or should I change ASAP to 357 batteries.

357s may well cause a short term not to say immediate problem by cracking the ceramic cicuit board

Thank you for the information, in view of your comments I will stick with the smaller 363 batteries as they have worked perfectly in the past without any problems.

I´ve done new battery "disks" which can be applied to Frontier or Omega plastic module carriers. They can be used as a replacement for lost or broken battery connectors or springs. These are out of 0,5mm stainless steel. Hanno.
