Omega Time Computer Repair Query?

I was asked to take a look a a friends watch , it only needed some new batteries but I just thought Id check under the circuit board and found this little bit of work -

Any ideas what has been done? the silver is soft to the touch?

It does not look like clean work to me from a laymen's perspective for sure. First glance, it looks like they used soldier to buttress the crystal or to reinforce the seat where the crystal is set into.

No, it is work that has been done to the button enclosure. Im wondering if it has been removed and then a soft solder used to re fit it?

It looks like the work of an amateur repairer. If the watch functions and the case exterior looks tidy it might be best left alone, meddling might open up a can of worms especially if the button drops out,

Thanks - It works just fine and is back fully assembled. I was curious as to the materials used in this repair.
