How many people are waiting a watch?

How many people are waiting a watch after sending a deposit? What sort of time will it take to clear all back orders , can you get a refund of a deposit if you want?

I have no authority to answer this, but here's the situation as I understand it:

Roger Riehl passed away a while ago.

There was a backlog.

His son, who doesn't have any obligation to do so, has taken it upon himself to fill the backlogged orders and do some limited production of new Synchronars. He has sold some rare old pieces on eBay (I know of only one or two).

It's not clear how quickly the new and backordered watches will go out.

I'm waiting for mine, not expecting it soon, and I'll be happy to get it when I do.

Personally I don't know anyone who received any backlog, only one other collector waiting for watches / parts he payed in advance

I sent payment to R.R. in 1998 for a spare module and other parts, never recieved anything in return. Also not even an answer on several complaints and reminders I wrote to R.R. and the person(s) to continue Synchronar watch business (which turned out to be Howard Riehl meanwhile).

If I ever recieve my parts I will be glad to post it here

A name would help,or some more info that you could send me.Some people actualy think they can make threats and accusations to get me to help them with a transaction they made years ago with RWR/CCC.But that only slows things down and is unfair to the people who do support what I,m doing. There are no funds coming in and I certainly don.t have access to any money ever sent to RWR/CCC.One year ago I did have the impression there would be more support and help(New Orders),a few guys to help at the shop, someone to help with a website and handle sales.Well these things didn't happen and I have so far taken a loss ,lacking the team effort needed. Please don,t assume that I am responsible for your issue.Again let me know who you are and maybe we can work something out. OK, I know now,btw your website link is missing the "D" in led.Yes I do have the letters you sent my father threatening to spread ill will if he did not hop to it.I do thank you for eliminating the Synchronar comments and a big X you once had at your site.Meanwhile I,m here in Florida and no longer have a clue what a person may send to or calls made to N.Y, so please contact me at riehl_synchronar_2100 Thank you for your condolence letter, but that was the last I saw of.I try to call New Berlin,NY and find out if any mail or calls have come regarding the watch, but never get a call back.

Like I said I wrote complaint letters to your father. I think no wonder as delivery was promised within 2-3 moths, I wrote the first after half a year of waiting, the other one after two years...?
The warning on my website which I launched much later was meant to protect more and more collectors from such a very sad experience - for me it was probably the worst I had during ten years of collecting LEDs! Of course I removed it right away when I was informed about your fathers death.

I send you the details of my purchase via PM and once again: If I ever recieve these parts I will be glad to post it here - and to show pictures of a Synchronar (without a big X across) on my website for the very first time...

I am no longer waiting.

About 5 to 10 years before Roger's death, I returned two Synchronars to him for repair/replacement (backstory here). I never received anything back from him, although he was very talkative and helpful on the phone and we had some wonderful conversations that I will always treasure.

Since then, I have attempted to place an order for a replacement Synchronar, but was informed that my old repair order from the 1990s would be honored and to not send a new order. I never received a watch - neither a replacement, nor either of my old Synchronars.

I've been trying to get a functional Synchronar since the early 1980s, and have had no luck.

So I found a solution.

I stopped waiting.

I still love the watch. But at this point, even if I had the opportunity to place a new order, I think my money would be better spent elsewhere.

LED watches are quiet and polite. No ticking, no tocking, no beeping, no buzzing; they will only tell you the time when you ask to see it and they will do so instantly with no attention-seeking animations. A more civilized watch for a more civilized age.

I choose Today and Tomorrow and no longer have time to care about Yesterday. It is true Dot I have a MK III slated for you. I like my father refused any money from you about this.If I have upset you by refusing money, then it's my bad.Two months ago I was stuborn and was on a temporary high expectation level and did tell you about the special clear lexan top model I wanted to send you N/C. I still have the label*DOT MATRIX DWF* that I printed.Thing is I have 4 watches that have been paid for that I need to take care of.This may sound like an excuse to some but the reality is I have had problems with paypal and a whole group of modules with improper potting results, the latest setback aside from other distractions.I will gladly send the hardware(case and band ) back that I salvaged from NY. It has always been in my interest to send you a working module installed.Agreed there are other things to spend money on than a $2.100 watch.Only Horology historians will buy what I have .

Thanks for the reply.

I'd be grateful to receive anything you want to send me, and I'll be happy to pay for it. But I can't spend my life waiting for something to happen.
