New Synchronar Module

Post02 Apr 2022, 21:24

I sent my Synchronar in for service (via Authorized Camera Repair) 18 months ago. One of the reasons my watch took so long to repair was that it was one of Howard Riehl's last watches, and since he couldn't gel fill them he glued the case together. Hanno couldn't get it apart without destroying the case. So he now has an all new module (I haven't yet found out what parts of the original watch he uses, if any). The watch isn't waterproof, but no repaired Synchronar is. The back as shown is a plastic prototype, the full production versions will be in nicer stainless, I can purchase one of those when it is released. The batteries are fully serviceable, there are 4 and they last around 5 years. It was hard to take a photo of the display, the LEDs are apparently pulsed, but I did my best. Nice to get my watch back and fully functional.

can you provide more information on the production versions, and where/when to purchase them?

Thanks for the link. That center is relatively close.
Edit: Is Hanno making new Led watches or new Synchronars?

No new LED watches it appears, looks like his previous model is out of production.
It appears the new modules are all new construction. You would still need a donor watch for the metal portion, and probably the sliders also.
The new modules are very nice.
Note that only time and date functions are supported (along with speed control).

I would have to send my old (dead) watch to Hanno for the new module? Not the service center in the US?

Send it to the service center and they will take care of the rest.

Better photo of the display. It isn't quite that bright but it is a bit tough to get it just right

Display looks nice from here. I need to get with Mr. Hanno for a few of those.
