I don't mean to be a pessimist, but just because something is printed, it doesn't mean it's true. Arthur Jones, genius extraordinar, and inventor of the line of Nautilus exercise machines once said that 90% of everything written on every subject is pure bullshit. It is not like there is a group of secret police that go around and check everything before it is printed to see that it is truthful. While it is true that larger manufacturers could probably have challenged that statement in court, it probably just wasn?t worthwhile.

Having read that statement more than 20 years ago, I've come to believe Jones was wrong. It's more like 99% of everything written on every subject is pure bullshit.

Definately. A lot of companies make claims about their products that are pretty questionable, eg British Airways - 'the worlds favorite airline', and Budweiser - 'king of beers', but they seem to be accepted as marketing campaigns, and aren't held up to too much scrutiny.

What we cant see in that advertisement due to the low resolution is the microscopic asterisk.

The brand name Quasar is definitevely not seen very often, but to my knowledge the mentioned group company holds different brand names like Bowmar, Armitron and a few no names and these made quite a lot units in summary.

Nevertheless Quasar has very unique designed watches, so it is interesting for collectors. Have a look on:

That's a great looking watch. To me, it looks like a cross between the Armitron drivers view watch (no supprise there), and the Nepro XJS.

I love the nicely designed Quasar watches. Just made a picture of their pocket watch, the only I know with a springed watch cap. Interesting combination of traditional watch manufacturing with high tech inner life.

So do you have to push one button to open the case, then a second to activate the LED display? Or does one push do both?

Hello dot matrix,

pressing the button opens the lid and activates the time indication. For seconds or month/date you have to keep the button pressed or push again.
