Synchronar build your own kit - Kick @ss!!

Post01 Jan 2007, 00:23

I picked up the clear-top Synchronar kit Howard had on ebay and got it a few days ago...WOW, what a sweet little item!!! I haven't mounted it into a case & band yet, but it works perfectly. I have it set to the second and will count down to the New Year on it. 8) I understand the die-hard fans a little better now.

Clear top?

Post07 Jan 2007, 00:02

What do you mean by clear top?
Have I missed some recent step in the evolution of the Synchronar, or am I simply not up to date with Synchronar terminology.

Roger Riehl had a handful of CLEAR lexan tops made, so the insides could show thru...Howard sold one that was essentially assembled but not sealed shut on ebay about 3 weeks ago. I was waiting for the holidays to be over before I sat down to pick a case to polish(I bought a few of the old ones). I'm thinking a stainless with the cut corners, red switches....

Yes, the clear top allows for a CLEARVIEW of some of the internals and I had planned on offerring these a while back as RWR-LE-CV or Legacy edition CLEARVIEWS and perhaps CVG-for a Solid Gold variety.Problem is the gel is not clear like the old Silicone,so it would come out looking like a light amber which is too close to the color of motor oil,Yuck! One way to keep things clear on these for now is not to fill them with the gel.

As from the PM,s sent Thanks again Ed and I,m glad you are happy with it.

YMIH I will answer some things at your other post.
