Fraud Auction?

This guy has other auctions too. They all have different style photos and the one in the above link looks like usick's. It even has German in the text, which his other auctions do not.

The german text does not match the image at all:
"heavy, brushed gold-filled case ... specially made black leather strap with pin buckle ... top collector condition with minimal signs of wear - see images ... watch can be inspected in advance"
The text isn't typical for usick, there are a few spelling errors.
I asked for closeup photos of the watch (in German ;-))

Among the GP and other nice watches, he's also selling an Optel DSM - the images are from an auction by ztv99 that ended on 2005-10-19 (I have copies of the original images, but no record of who bought it). The text is from ztv99.

Either this is all fraud or someone without a clue is trying to sell a very nice collection.

He's got a paltry 18 feedback - one of which while positive does criticise the watch. 3 are from one buyer - who buys a lot of jump hours - so I'd be very wary about this one.

Strangely though, one of the recent positive feedbacks is from lala180 who so far as I know is a respected buyer?

So's Dutchwatch I believe but I think the low number of feedbacks should probably cause people to be wary (Of course this is a possible bargain if genuine). I've seen a P2 on a zero feedback - and no photo - sell for peanuts and the buyer was well chuffed from the feedback when I checked. Wish I'd bid on it now. On some other forums it appears Singapore has a pretty safe reputation for buying from, unlike some other nations in the vicinity. Oh I don't know if I'd bid on this one or not but I'm saving up for an Omega Seamaster so there's no chance for me anyway. Pants.

It could still be a hijacked account. Now the seller has changed his user ID. Odd thing to do in the middle of an auction.

Basically it boils down to him responding to emails about the watches and sending additional photos. If he can't deliver there, than something's wrong.

No response and no photos after 2 questions (one in German, one in English). I gave him a 3rd chance...
More luck anybody? (Of course I see the problem if somone actually HAD more luck, then he wouldn't post it here to keep the price low ;-))

Err...sorry folks, just took another check of the sellers feedback (as a buyer) and i'm on the list. They actually bought something from me and I left good feedback. It was some tme ago, but unless they've suddenly turned nasty (or sold their ebay ID, which at just 18 i doubt) this should a genuine auction.

I cant guarantee this though, so as always you pay yer money and you take your choice.

The Macrolon GP went for 560GBP (808EUR) to "moorman100" from the Netherlands. Quite a low price if it is really in good condition, with boxes etc. He could have sold it for twice as much had he answered to emails and provided some hires photos...

Optel DSM sold to "kespenz5" for 212GBP (306EUR) - perhaps the cheapest DSM ever in this condition...

Then there is the Roger Tallon LIP, the auction is still running ;-)

: Fraud Auction?

Post29 Oct 2007, 20:28

Hi everybody,

This is my first post on this forum. The guy who was selling these watches is a definitive thief (u_industries). I won one of his auctions for a nice Curtiss jump hour watch. He just sent me a bubble envelope with a sheet of newspapers inside! Another french ebayer also received the same thing than me for 2 watches! A procedure is going on with Paypal but this ebayer told me that Paypal Malaysia was not refunding more than 200€ (he spent 1000€!!!!). These adventure just cost me 150€, so I think I will be refunded my money (but not the 29£ of the shipping, the guy just spent $3.30...)

So I want everybody on this forum not to deal with u_industries.

: Fraud Auction? u_industries

Post30 Oct 2007, 11:33

For the records, these are the auctions of u_industries/lut_industries that I watched:

LIP mach roger LED Watch 1970 NOT Synchronar
Sold for EUR 401 (US $577.04) to mach8691 on Oct-11-07

Synchronar Mk2 Riehl SolarPowered LED Watch 1970
Sold for EUR 650 (US $935.35) to luigisami on Oct-04-07

GIRARD PERREGAUX LED led 1970 markolon vintage swiss
Sold for GBP 560 (US $1148.78) to moorman100 on Oct-10-07

Rare Vintage Optel LCD Dynamic Scattering Watch led 70s
Sold for GBP 212 (US $434.90) to kespenz5 on Oct-10-07

u_industries has not received feedback for any of these "sales" yet.

It is a lot of money - but to be honest, I can't really commiserate with the victims.
I don't know if it was so obvious for the earlier auctions, but the abovementioned ones showed all signs of fraud:
- stolen text
- stolen pictures
- text not matching the pictures
- no reaction to any question.

NEVER bid a serious amount of money if the seller does not reply to any questions. If you do it anyway, you pay dearly.

Yup, I knew it. I was going to report him to Ebay, from day one, but I had no proof since the photos (which were obviously not his) or text were not from any current auctions or ones within the last 30 days.

I just wanted you to know that the seller refunded me all my money (a little more than £100), probably after Paypal asked him to do so.

The other french ebayer who never saw the 2 watches he paid for has recovered a big part of his money from the seller. He is now waiting for him a refund of €200. I'll keep you informed...

The only thing to remember is this undelicate seller, so:

Avoid an ebay seller named u_industries located in Malaysia!
