Fixing loose bracelet links on Pulsar Date/Command

Post16 Dec 2008, 22:27

Hello all,

I've got a Date/Command bracelet where some of the links are "loose". They don't fit as tight as they used to, in fact, one link has a big gap between it and the link above it. Is there any way to tighten the connections between the links?

TIA,
Mike

There is, but it involves disassembling the bracelet down to the individual links, and bending and re-forming the little tabs that hold the link pins [and the wide "tongue" that extends from one link under the next]. It is not an easy task to seperate the "fixed" links [the ones that are not intended to be removed to size the bracelet]. I have found it is a 2-5 hour job [not counting any additional time spent in re-fininishing] to re-tighten a bracelet, but if done properly, the feel and appearance is just like when it left the factory.

Hi Bruce,

Thank you for that info. I'm not scared about taking things apart, this is a case with no module. It'll be a winter project. Has this been documented before? I haven't seen anything about removing the links (even the ones for resizing).
