I think this page with the Timex pop-up suggestion is the cause of this confusion....that is a standard Benrus pop-up. They are not marked Benrus, which leads to the confusion.

The "Wells" watch is a similar piece of confusion, also from Benrus. It was actually a Wells-Benrus watch, with a Texas Instrument's module. After two men's models and one ladies, they went with just Benrus. But frequently only marked on the screen.
*Benrus bought Wells, a small jewelry manufacturer, a few years before the LED era.
...not saying there might not be a Timex pop-up out there in some engineer's estate.
