I have one of these M159-5000's. Just got the front buttons working actually. I'm also a big Bond fan

just double checked it may infact be the m159-5028 which appeared in the james bond the spy who loved me poster,advertised by seiko.the m159- 5000 is just slighty different. the m159-5000 was the first case to feature the new 159 module , my one is from jan 77 which is very early.thanks

I looked at the pic of the poster in your link. I have the exact watch on the left, and I have 2 versions of the watch on the right side.
(Though the one in the poster looks like it has a black bezel.)
All these years and I had no idea that the M159 was used in the Spy Who Loved me adverts.

I was looking at your poster again Holly and I noticed that the prices for the watches is listed = 145 Pounds for the A159 and 128 Pounds for the M159. This was back in 1977.
Does anyone know what that would translate into today's Pounds / Dollars?

Okay - so I got off my arse and looked the figures on an inflation calculator webiste. In case anyone was curious (as I was) here are the numbers in US dollars:
Seiko A159
1977 price was $145 = $520.73 in 2010
Seiko M159
1977 price was $128 = $459.68 in 2010
