Hello everybody,
I'm new, so thanks for accepting my registration, please forgive me for any stupid thing I may be writing ...
I've been collecting LED calcs for a while, and restored those that where purcahsed "as is".
Since mostly were HP, I had the chance to buy a couple of HP-01
(for those of you interested, more information can be found at http://www.hpmuseum.org/hp01.htm).
That made curios about LED watches in general, and I have had the chance to get on Ebay a couple of Bulova pieces with the idea of putting them together and make at least a working unit out of all the pieces.
The first purchase was aboout a N7 (?) case (silver tone) with a mint N6 module. I knew that the module couldn't fit onto the case, but it was just too mint to let it go.
As a matter of fact, when I received, and connected a couple of fresh batteries it was gorgeous. The display was like new, litterally. However, I could set the time nor the date. Then, one day, I saw a working N6 including the case (the one in the pics in gold tone) and some segments not working.
The idea was to swap the display from the first module, with the unit of this second watch.
Well, to cut it short, the following photos will show what reamins today.
(shame on me ...)

The question is, is there any chance to get at least the newer display back to working condition ?

Thanks in advance for any help,
take care Alberto[/code]

Dear All,

I have worked a little on the modules,
cleaned them, resoldered what was in need of a good soldering,
and this are the results :

it looks like still something works.

I do get some display changing pressing the right button,
while nothing happens when I press the left one.

Beside the display problem, one thing that I don't understand
is why the display is always "on", shouldn't go off after few seconds ?

Thank you very much for reading the post, hope someone has a
suggestion for me.

Take care, thanks again, Alberto
