BENYTONE LCD WATCH

Post05 Feb 2011, 03:23

Does anyone know anything about this watch (age, or history)?
Is this module one that some other watch may have used?
Thanks for any help!

That screen has got everything going on at once....guess the engineers were just excited. :-)

There were others that had the same/similar layout of buttons and display. Probably some Sears Phasars, they seemed keen to copy everyone a little.

I looked up some info on AGON, and it looks like TISSOT may have used them around the time this watch came to be? (AGON WATCH LTD is stamped on case back inside).
Here's a couple more pics:

Nice LCD Benrus ! Never seen one like this before, or heard of Benytone......does it play an ABBA melody :-D

The module looks good quality. Reminds me of an Orient LCD module.

Nope, no ABBA playing on this one ;-)

Did ORIENT use "EST" modules? , or am I misreading what "EST" stands for? (Its marked on sticker: "- JAPAN EST")
Does anyone know what "EST" might stand for?

Thanks again for any help 8-)

:-P

I was doing a "benytone" search on GOOGLE, and stumbled across this site that had some pics from a watch/vendor show in JAPAN?
I noticed "HAL", and "MONDO WATCH" mentioned in some of the readable text throughout the page.
