I read through the various forum posts related to that sale... and I have to say, it's a little suspicious. Seriously, even somebody with pocket fulls of disposable cash isn't going to pay (in their right mind) that kind of money. These watches aren't hen's teeth. Eventually there will be another. Patience is key. I mean c'mon, the module wasn't even demonstrated as working. If it turned out to be dead, it would have been a really sorry win.
I just don't get the "rarity" mentality for items like this. As one person said somewhere, wearing their Microma in the general public isn't noticed much, but when it is there's only the recognition of it being an old LCD watch. And there's plenty of people who could care less if it was worn in a movie.
Anyway, if the alleged winner is indeed real, I'll bet that future sales of this particular watch will be higher than normal. But give it a while and the prices will drop back down again. The key is, as I said before, "patience".
