Pulsar P3 module only displays a "0"

Post19 Aug 2011, 16:38

Hi All,

I have a P3 module that is only displaying a 0 in the 3rd digit. I changed the QC and nothing changed. Any thoughts on what to try next?

Thanks!

Hi. You can look under the Pulsar section for clues. Just look through and you will found help there.

Thanks, I found the pertinent thread. Since my new QC didn't help, I must need an oscillator chip.

The link to the specific oscillator is now dead in that thread, as are some of the photos of results. Is this documented anywhere more concisely/permanently?

I refound the part by going to http://uk.rs-online.com and search for part# 4785064. This will direct you to an EPSON TOYOCOM Mfr Part No. SG3030JF32.768KHZ.

Best,
Shawn

HI Guys,
I wonder can anyone give me some advice. I have a Pulsar Classic P4 model 5210 14K flick wrist model. Well I inadvertantly let the watch fall onto the floor. When I picked it up both buttons were displaying the correct information. About 1 hour later I decided to try it again and this time although the watch would light up and the numbers/letters bright red unfortunately they were cut in half, only the top part showed. Appears I must have jolted/broken something.
Would anyone have any advice/information as to what might be causing he problem and how to to repair,
Thank you,
KARNAK.

Karnak, I have to point out two things out:(a)you hijacked :-) the thread by starting a discussion of a totally different issue than the original poster, (b)it is your responsibility to remove double and triple posts - there is a little "X" to the left of your postings. It's nice if the poster does cleanup since only the person who made the post and the site admin can remove the additional posts. Which means if I go on vacation or similar things get messy... :o I know, I know, the hijacking happens. !@@!

You probably broke one or more wirebond loose on that movement. Which sucks - it requires unsoldering everything that is connected to the circuit board, in order to flip it over where the bonds are all hidden. Then all has to be connected again just to see whether the repair worked.

Hi Ed,

Thank you, no big deal buddy, I deserved it, guess I was just not paying attention. You are still NUMBER 1 in my book. Hope you are well.
Kindest regards,
John.
