The good cause is an engagement ring for my beloved one. As things have settled a bit after the earthquake in japan i realized that there is only one love for me, so i give up my previous love - collecting wristwatches. I already announced it many month ago with something different in mind but now it's serious and final. I already listed the HP-01 and my "Lets f*ck" LED watch, more to come. If anyone is still interested in some other wristwatches from my gallery then message me again please (See the gallery). As she is the only thing that matters in my life i am willing to let go all of my remaining wristwatches.

But how would this actually WORK?
If she is ugly, do we spend more, figuring he will need it to drown his sorrows .

The whole ring thing does not work anymore than the marriage thing it is a symbol of.
An engagement ring is like an expensive pee against a tree marking one´s territory.

As to expensive gifts I don´t see that either.
Least of all I see the point in connecting selling watches to that mechanism.
It would be sponsoring an antiquated and in today´s world imo questionable custom.
From giving the bride a piece of financial independance it has shifted to buying rights that do not exist.

I dó get the part of giving up something important as a valuable token of love but do not see why love has to have a heavy price.

do not see why love has to have a heavy price.

You know, when I married my second wife(r.i.p.), I sold almost everything I owned, so we could get married and arrange all the cohabitation and such - she got a tiny rock, maybe 1/4 ct. When I got to #3 (happily current ), my finances were much different: we went to a private jeweler, I dropped for a 2ct. rock on a customized setting and scarcely remember any financial pain. 'Fronz' may find time and money for his love , and some watches in the future.

Love, like a rare and fine watch:
beautiful to the senses;
wonderful in it's construction;
amazing how well it works, despite the past abuses;
we worry that other's might covet it (yet we see and covet others' );
is the most damning when it fails to work, and there is, seemingly, no way to make it work again.

Better still; keep it and forget about marriage.
In this world and age I simply do not see why a guy would want to go into such a bad deal.
Why get bound by contract to one ´cow´ when there is a herd giving milk for free?
Mind you, nothing wrong with choosing for óne but why the binding contract?
Isn´t love about wánting?

Well, the thought of having a little herb of your own (or at least practicing ) is definately a laudable endevour. More No - you want to bump with lady?

But seriously, is nice to have someone special, if you can both keep it special. Billions keep trying.

Regarding girls not buying watches for boys.....I actually see a fair amount of it at my end. Usual scenario: the lady knows he kind of wants a digital watch, has been talking about one or has a cheap/old one. So the lady doesn't know exactly what he wants - I ask about how he dresses, usual color clothing he wear, hair color, and whether he is a "leather" person...just her impression, so we know whether to not talk leather bands. And what he does for a living, where he would be wearing this watch - daily or special occasion only.

You guys are more like me with my guns, archery stuff and musical toys: it would be a waste of money for anyone else to buy those items for me, unless I had told them THE exact,specific one I wanted. Like a kids telling Santa Claus what they want for Christmas. Otherwise, the surprise would be "no surprise", and we might hurt the other person's feeling by not using their gift. Possibly killng that whole "rubbing the bodys together" thing.

She just makes me very happy. Ín every way. If it is a mistake i will gladly pay for that, but i feel i'd always regret and never forgive me if i don't try. If you try you can lose. If you don't try you already have lost.


Anyways, i hope the HP-01 will sell this time, the flight is also expensive and the appartment and blah. So come on guys, daddy needs a new pair of shoes!
