Actually we are running a very old forum software which has been totally OK, because generally speaking you should never touch a running system.
For security reasons and the lack of further improvements or service for this phpbb version, there´s no other way than to update to a late release of the forum software. I would like to keep this forum alive for a long time to come.
An update is a bunch of work. If work is done it should be done properly from my perspective so I will change a few things with this update:
1) Change the forum style to a newer one. It will be a bit more formal and clean, because this should highlite the value of the watches. I have to say I don´t like all the phpbb - blue forums.
2) Merge some forums so it is easier to post and find topics. It should also be more friendly to your eyes.
3) Move the whole forum to my german server. I don´t want to be responsible under american law, so this is some kind of protection for me. But there are some other advantages: This server should be 5 times faster and if you don´t get enough attention on your latest purchase, then just photoshop the new digital watch on the wrist of a nice nudie in the Humor-Section (...).
4) I am still trying to merge both forums, so please wish me luck in that we will have one digital watch forum for all collectors. I´ve already spoken to the owner of .cc and I have a good feeling.
The update and new forum is already running on my server, so I am working in the background. This forum will be closed for 24 hours (I will let you know once I am ready) when databases and the whole content will be transferred and updated. Don´t worry, I will backup all files!
