Arrived today...Citizen 9010 from 1973!!

Ciao amici....just arrived (the next one will be a Seiko 0662).A very beautiful Citizen 9010 from 1973.well the watch works great,no light is present and is all original with the "citizen" on the clasp.The day of the week are in jap-eng and the saturday is indicated with a blue color.The display is very simple: hour,minute,date,sec and day of the week....
The glass is broken at the bottom right...need a replace...and the pins of the strap are very very hard (i'm not be able to remove it,what can i do???) ~:(

Overall the watch is in great condition after all this time ( 40 years circa) and is very very funky...ah ah ah

You've got an awesome and iconic watch, those early Citizens are very rare on Ebay nowadays. What are you going to do with the chipped crystal? It'd be a tough job to search for an original one, as that watch doesn't appear on Ebay often. Apart from that, it looks great! 8-)

thanks...yes the lcd is clean...even if is present a little rainbow effect...but overall is ok...

The strap you have there is one of the two designs that I have seen on these watches - Original. The serial number is from Sept 1974 ....

The crystals are almost always damaged on these because there's such a big thickness of glass sitting above the case. The Citizen part number for the crystal is 54-61011 - they're not so easy to find but I did get a NOS one from the US a few months ago (the last one they had....)

Beautifull Citizen Simone! And i have to say its with an excelent LCD-panel. Most often these particular early LCD panels of citizen have faded digits.

Very nice one.. Its like the casiontrons but from citizen.
I still need to cut some new glass for my old citizen, so if you really cannot find replacement glass... Give me a yell and I will see what I can do. :-D

Is possible to remove the front polariser without damage the lc panel??The day of the week are printed in the back?I have the classic rainbow effect...
Well i found this in an older post on Pocketcalculator: " The LC panel is a single assembly - glass, polarisers, legends and mirror all stuck together as one making it impossible to change either polarisers or mirror without irrepairable damage."

Thats correct, you will have to replace the display all together.
Personally i think your LCD is in excelent condition for its age and this specific type. I have a Citizen with a similar display which is allmost fully faded. Fortunately i was able to receive an brandnew one, im still working on the restauration (waiting for the glass replacement)

I have a problem with this strap...i can't remove the pin from the strap.They seem to be hard or blocked...i tried with the classical pin remover but nothing ~:(
