Omega Boxes

Post30 Sep 2012, 16:40

I'm trying to figure out what kind of boxes the early Omegas were sold in (for instance the TC1's and TC2's). So far, I've been told they were the plastic ones with the fake wood finish on them. Does anybody have any other ideas on this?

There's a good picture of all the possible boxes the Omegas may have come in at Oldpulsars.com in the Omega section. Also, this gives us some clues too...

I'm pretty sure the box shown below came with the TC2, maybe also TC1 or later models. Nowadays often TCs are sold in much more common Omega boxes where the watch is laying on its side. I doubt this can ever be correct as the button could be pushed inadvertedly and drain the battery during storage.

The Omega section is all the way down at the bottom of the Oldpulsars forum.

It looks to me like the boxes where the watch is lying on the side are Omega Seamaster boxes. They look cool though.

My omega Chronoquartz (1976 Olympics) came in a plastic narrow box with the watch upright as in the above pictures. I will post a pic later in the week.

Like the red box!

Seamasters and Constellations came in horizontal display boxes and speedmasters in upright displays.

Will post some of those too. Just picked up a plastic Omega from the 70' s for three dollars at the local flea (boot) market.

Now if I could only find a period breitling box for my 9106.
