Nepro quartz solid state new old stock

Post29 Dec 2012, 22:56

Yeah i know, you don't see them often and this one is also a non working new old stock.

As i did my research on the board, the display has to be creamy color..hmmm..so i did take a bunch of shots and lets hope some
board members can give me an idea if it's still possible to get it to work.
Or want to give it a shot to look at it close.

i know the odds are small but we all want it to see it working so i can document it for later (pics and vids).

Very nice watch!
I like the yellowish screen.
Like with my Sears Solid State watch, I had to just find a working Microma "EWC 2100" movement to fix it (not that easy).
Your movement looks similar, and you might be able to make yours work with similar Microma module swap. Are your 2 buttons recessed, and lined up on either side of center right side?
That metal retainer ring holding the movement in place is all that's keeping you from peeking at the other side ;-)
I think there are two types of screens available for these early modules...I think yours is LCD, not DSM.
If it were DSM...I think your whole screen would be all blacked out, or milky white.

The ring on mine was tension set just a bit. I chose just the top arch over a recessed button to lift up on, and then worked my way around lifting gently at any visible area to lift...There are 3 slits, or cut-out openings around the ring to lift up on when visible.
Once the ring is removed, the module just drops out...At least thats what happened for me.
I am actually in search of another "EWC 2100" type movement to restore a NOS case with setting tool I just purchased, I will inform you if I find extra parts ;-)
