I have let Hanno know and he is going to look into the matter later today, you could use 'Imageshack' or 'photobucket' to upload the photo's to the forum in the meantime.

Cheers Mick.

Hi Azimuth,
I tried a new crystal (quartz) yesterday night but no success :-(
I will just clean everything, polish and have as a display piece in my collection :grin1:
Thanks

It uses a 32.768 kHz right?!

quartz frequency is standard and correct.
it might have a dead display and as such will remain a display watch ;)

Thanks for that Adam, yours is probably the only known video of a non Optel Dynamic Scattering display watch in working condition. I really like the thinner digit font and the flashing round colon for seconds.

fussy as a Ferarri. Half an hour adjusting the case back finally breathed some life.

Its a nice looking watch ;-) I've had that model before, but with busted FE LCD display:-(

I just got this Zodiac that's keeping good time, but with the 5:59 image burned into the screen... Its a bit hard to read the actual time displaying over it  .
If you look at it from a left angle, you can just about read the time:
ZODIAC.jpg

Time displayed right now is 7:37
I will attempt a LCD transfer from another Optel I have thats 90% better, and take better pictures soon ~:(

repeated from another thread but this should also be relevant for the DSM discussion:

in any earlier documents, leaflets, manuals and articles I have never come across a direct statement that LCD displays will need to be replaced every few years.
