1972 Orient EKISHO LCD watch

Post31 Dec 2013, 18:20

IMAG0966.jpg
Hello Members,
I found on Ebay this 1972 Orient EKISHO lcd, caliber6200, but the LCD panel is dead.

I placed another lcd panel from an old lcd watch and it works 100 %.

But what I need is an original lcd panel with BLUE numbers at an silver background ( Dynamic scattering ?).

Maybe there is somebody who can advice in this case ?

I wish all members an happy, healthy, blessed Nwe Year 2014.

Thanks,
Fred

1972? Are you sure?Seems to be an early one but not 72 (maybe i wrong)...in my opinion this one came from 74...Btw great watch and fantastic catch
Orient made beautifull lcd watches for sure :mega:
Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

Hi Simone,
I have a German book titteled Elektrik am Handgelenk about electric watches from 1956 till 2006, which discribed the Orient Ekisho from december 1972.
The watch has only time, no date or light and the module is working 100% it only needs the original LCD panel.
I am glad to hear you like the watch.
Fred
