0624 on eBay - Final SALE TOO LOW?

Post11 Feb 2014, 18:11

EBAY AUCTION# 131107201524

LINK: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Seiko-Q ... fresh=true

The final sale on this watch was US $229.72 USD,

What I wan to know from you guys is if you think this price was right. Should this watch have sold for more money? I honestly thought this watch would have exceeded $400.00 USD because is is in MINT condition, and with a spare or harvested LCD, it may be in totally new condition.

Anyway, I would like to heard what other people think about this eBay sale.

Ebay is fickle at best.

Beautiful, working a158-5060 sold on german ebay for 8 euros. Tried to bid but was not set up for international bidding. The only other version right now is 399USd in worse condition. Will it sell, probably not.

The crystal parted out would have gone for 50-100 I would have thought. The case another 100. The circuit had a working light but as to function unknown. Yes a new LCD would have been simple but not everyone is like us. In fact, I would have bid but for funding a. :-( shortfall and the fact that I have restored a case, and have a module on its way and the ability to polish the crystal resulting in a new old stock looking watch. All this for 50 USd.

Cheers, geoff

If you are patient enough you can find this watch for 40$ maximum in slight used condition.
It's very easy to restore and usually looks NOS after 20 minutes of work hence I can't understand why people buy them for 200-300$.
It's not that rare and valuable.

I have Never seen this watch for $40.00 - $50.00 USD. It is always over $100.00 at auction end. I did see 2x 0624's at $300.00 a while back (one gold and on SS), and I thought that was a good deal actually. Maybe you have been around a lot longer than I, but I really think that the general public thinks that this watch is highly sought after, and that is what a sellers will set a BIN over $100.00.

EBAY AUCTION#: 181332434135

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-SEIKO-L ... 7675.l2557

I just wanted to reinstate the fact that this Seiko model almost never sells for under $100.00 USD. Funny because this particular auction had a 0624 in non-working condition, and it still sold for almost $200.00 USD. I have to disagree with azimuth_pl in that I have never seen it for sale for anything less than $100.00, and I believe that it is due to it's popularity ie: "Lemon Drop" label in all. But I do agree with azimuth_pl in that this model is NOT rare at all.

Very expensive for an incomplete and maybe dead seiko. Some wealthy collector going for the name probably. Reminds me of the Seiko 6105 diving watches sudden popularity. (apocalypse now)
