Would someone know the correct name for this battery please ? I doub they are still available but it would be great to try n find one

it's the same size as a 309 , it's from an Orient Solar.

There is a tab soldered to the base and printed on the side is HK 1 3

If it is a solar watch it could also be a capacitor. Those #,letters on it could be an ID. Also a 393 energizer is the same size as the 309. Both 1.55v. Neither is a rechargeable cell. Peter

I would try the Varta V15H NiMH cell, or (better:) a Varta MBU20 NiMH cell
Goodluck!

That's true, they are too thin. Its the only suitable recharcheable cell I was able to find matching solar Seiko's, Citizens and some other solar powered vintage watches with the same size/diameter cells. I try to make a reliable workaround with respect to the integrity of the movement and case. They work very fine, but I learned that these older solar watches really need daily usage and thus charge time. Initial charge often takes 16 hours+ in the windowsill, and a discharge only takes 3 to 5 x 24h depending on the solar cells.
These days I disable the solar panel connection and use alternative normal cells, although I regret that its the outcome..
