Alright, this is my first presentation here, the first of a serie that I had never time/want to start
.
Curiosly, I'll start from my last acquisition.
This is a Veglia Digital Quartz, from (I think) 1977 or 1978.
Veglia is (or was, I don't know really) an italian trademark, part of the important company Veglia-Borletti, the factory commonly known for its car's speedometers, especially on italian's cars.
Veglia was the brand dedicated to the production of watches and alarm clocks, since the fifties.
The watch that I've bought, as I say, it's an LCD still NOS, with tag and original box.
When I bought it, I knew it was not a technologic and historically important watch (in fact I didn't pay it so much...), but he impressed so much me, that I could not resist to make an offer.
When it arrived to me, it smelled of an inebriant smell: old, humidity, and...garage!! The perfect smell for this watch, so tied to the car's world!
I opened the back and did a little clean of the contact (but I still need the isopropyl alcohol to do a perfect cleaning), since I've noticed that the light wasn't working very well, being very flickering.
Afetr that, I reassembled the watch and the light is now working properly. An unusual thing about the light, is the fact there are two bulbs, one on the left and one on the right, so I can see very well both hour and minutes!
The module is very basic: only hour, minutes, date and light (no seconds).
Beyond everything, the watch is really well made: it's all stainless steel (it's little but heavy), the bracelet has solid links and the glass it's mineral.
The price, as you will see, was of 90.000 italian Lire which, considering the age, equals about 350€ of nowadays....
And now some pictures, I hope you will enjoy
:

When I will wear this watch while driving, I will imagine to have this instruments in front of me
:

Thanks
