Unpleasant surprise with my Ricoh lcd (lcd screen massage)

Post30 Jan 2015, 22:19

I already have this for a while, in box, manual, guarantee, lots of crown operated functions, cr2016 cell, awesome watch :)

After a while I looked at it, it was safely in it's box and I had this "surprise"

So I thought, "it's already broken so I can try to repair it anyway".
I disassembled the display and "pushed the crystals back" with my thumb. Don't push too hard or you'll hear "crack" :) It took a while but it's presentable again, with some tiny droplets remaining. No idea how long it will work but it's on "bonus time" now :)

Well because of the overwhelming attention of you lcd lovers I wanted to inform you all the "last ditch" repair still is successful, the remaining droplets have vanished and the lcd looks like new again :)

Thank you for sharing that, its always helpful to see techniques like these being applied successfully. It's definitely one of the more "scary" methods (makes me think of Uma Thurman receiving her chest jab in Pulp Fiction!)

A very nice result, a nice (new for me) technique, thanks for sharing !
Also, a very, very nice watch with its crown control
