Hey,

I found this model on EBay but there is a spot on the LCD display. What does it mean ?
Can it stay that way or that will kill the LCD display ?

Ops,sorry for the late reply...i think it's a battery leak spot on the reflecting mirror...You can only try to replace it with another one or you can just cut a new one from an old not working watch.

Spot may be one of two things, there are two LCD panels and one reflective silver backing. Battery leakage can affect the silver backing paper causing a spot. That’s an easy fix, I have used Christmas silver reflective wrapping paper.

Leakage on the lcd panels, not so good. Some have success removing the panel and massaging it gently forcing the LCD material back into its etched numeric channels.

There is an ebayer that sells the panels, just search eBay for the A239 LCD panels and replace yours.

I was fortunate enough to find a display model of this watch, absolutely new old stock sitting in a window about 7 years ago. All it needed was a battery.

Cheers, Geoff
