Russian Lady's watch w/ perpetual calendar

Post18 Jan 2016, 23:21

There's a quite rare watch, based on the experimental module, with diameter 26 mm, looks a bit common to 2651 - mass LED module, produced in USSR, but with no two buttons. Three other buttons are on their own places. When you choose the month the one more digit is displayed before months - from 0 to 3 - means years with leap year.

I compared it with mass gold plated Elektronika 1, produced in November 1976:

display allows to show letters (9 elements instead of common 7)

Compared with Gents model, based on 3051 module

The pics of module:
there are no inscriptions and serials - ceramic plate is fixed on the plastic base. According to cylindric quartz popular in USSR in the mid of 80-s I can suppose that this watch from the mid of 80s.

Here's a pic of ordinary ceramic 2651

I found a few very interesting details about this watch. This module had to be called as B6-302, and it was mentioned in technical literature in August 1978. The main thing of this chip - is digital correction of accuracy. It very common to Synchronar system - the same range of correction - 0-799 but only 23 points (not 46 for Ragen) to correct 1 second per day. Later i found instruction for pen watch Elektronika 1. It is mentioned, how to adjust perpetual calendar for December 1977. So I guess, the chip produced in the beginning (mid) of 1977. The normal russian Elektronika has a chip with frequency divisor for 512 and 256 Hz, decoder and controller. For digits there were two assemblies with transistors - one with 7 ones - for segments and one for 4 ones - for digits. Information is sent in 4 cycles. This chip has only 4 transistors in assembly in key mode.
Very interesting point that there was Qualitron watch pen in the box.
Here it is

Here i put scans of instruction for watch pen in russian with digital correction and perpetual calendar and days of week

Very interesting when Ragen started digital correction of accuracy.

Also I found two cases for module B6-302, I dated them as mid of 80s, not earlier than 1984, so these modules with this chip could be under production at least for 7 years . Unfortunately I have got the only known module B6-302, so it is tricky to analyse it.

One more proto watch in the collection. Driver's led watch, based on the same chip, like in ladies watch - also perpetual calendar and days of week in russian. Sorry, on Seiko bracelet :)

Small addition to Driver watch - a small pic of module (upper part). I forgot to photoghraph it, so only this is available

Image

To continue theme of russian experimental watches with full calendar i would like to share with pics of russian led watch pens.
Previously i put some info about this pen. For now pics alive. The pens are a bit different. In one clip is aside in other one - from the back side. Besides cromed one has russian calendar, gold plated - in english.

Hours and minutes

Day of week. I would remind that you can choose one of four years during time setting. So it is perpetual calendar.

There's the same chip like in driver watch. It looks perfect - one block with lens.

All wires ale soldered by hand and for sure these pens are just working samples.

Stunning again Andrew, thank.you for sharing. If only that could be on my wrist.

I love the rough construction of the pen it looks like someone made it at home.

Great stuff...its very nice to see LED's from a source outwith the west.

Hybrid watches with led and lcd visualization. Approx 1987-1991. No idea for reasons, we all know that all these experiments are finished in mid of 1970th. There is only square version with module, other versions with no module. I've made moulages.
