Any ideas how I could remove the watch module for servicing? I have a row of missing segments in the same location so I'm thinking it's a cold solder joint or some bad connection. I do see a module threaded module retention ring that couples the lower half of the pen. I'm wondering if the module could be removed w/o having to remove that coupling ring.

any ideas would be helpful!

Regards,
Robert

There's not big problem to bond wires to IC or indicator.
My collection of LED pen watches (also have a few LCD ones. There are 3 working samples with papers from Elektronika 1 factory (Pulsar, Moscow), one moulage and one NOS Qualitron also from the factory, there a many foreign wathes I found among soviet protos. USSR engineers monitored all new models to make most interesting designs and functions.
