Hello all,
Working on these 4 watches and mostly successful. These watches circa 1983 have plastic modules holders and single PCBs. Two LCD panels make up the graphics: upper panel being time functions and lower panel with the erotic (cheesie) graphics.
Watch has time, day, date, alarm, and chronograph. The graphics, a series of erotic situations are initiated by a simultaneous push of the right two pushers or by the alarm function. Both canceled by a simultaneous push of the top right and left buttons. The simultaneous push of the top right and left buttons also cycle the beep for all button pushes.
Classic 80s LCD look!
I recently got a hold of four dead Sexumm xxx-rated LCD circa 1983 erotic watches.
Modules appear to be very robust as all four modules now work. Some cleaning of the circuit boards and resoldering. Cases cleaned, crystals polished (somewhat), buttons cleaned and lubed and etc.
Watch number 1)
- fully functional, both panels clear, no rainbow effects, loud bender/peizo and two melodies: "La Marseillaiseā the French national anthem and the Can Can (Offenbach).
Watch number 2)
- fully functional as above with only the Can Can as a tune.
Watch number 3)
- functional with the exception of the top lcd segment on the second hour segment (see the hour 3 digit in the picture as well as a dead segment indicating Monday. The bottom panel is fully functional. All other aspects of the watch function. Only the Can Can on this one.
Watch number 4)
- module is fully functional with only the Can Can tune. However the upper LCD panel is completely dead. The upper panel actually separated into the upper and lower etched sections. The bottom panel is fully functional.
Conclusion:
So to restore watches 3 and 4 to full functionality I would require only the top LCD panel. Anyone got spares
